The FINISH Asia Summit Powerful Report
I am thrilled to testify to what our magnificent Lord accomplished through the recent FINISH Asia Summit in Manilla, Philippines. Dr. David Sobrepena, Founder of Word Of Hope Church & CoChair/East Asia of the Global Church Network, and I Cohosted this incredible summit. The daily attendance averaged 2,500 pastors and leaders from Singapore, Japan, South Korea, Mongolia, Myanmar, Thailand, and the Philippines. This is the first of three such summits in this region.
Dr. David Sobrepena and I have been friends for more than 25 years. We have been able to travel the world together, preaching and equipping ministers on six continents. More than 30 years ago, he sold everything he had in Fort Worth, Texas, packed up his bags, and move to Manilla to start a church in the theater. Today, Word of Hope is one of the strongest churches in the world!
Just prior to the FINISH Asia Summit, Dr. Sobrepena, was equipping pastors and church planters on the Tibetan Border. He and Biswha dev Khadka traveled together to this remote difficult region to the take Gospel to people who have never heard of Christ in 2,000 years. Over the years, I have been amazed by Pastor Sobrepena’s faith and fortitude to fulfill the Great Commission. He inspires me to go the extra mile with a smile!
During the FINISH Asia Summit, we focused on Find, Intercede, Network, Invest, Send and Harvest in our six main sessions. In all of the upcoming summits worldwide will focus on these six steps to arriving at the winners’ circle, the finish line. We were grateful to receive dynamic presentations from:
- Ejaz Nabie, Senior Pastor, Faith Assembly, Queens, New York
- Mark Louw, Area Director, Church of the Nazarene, Asia Pacific Region
- Efraim Tendero, Global Ambassador, World Evangelical Alliance
- Ronnie Floyd, President Emeritus, Southern Baptist Convention
- Anuparp Wichitnantana, General Superintendent, Assemblies of God, Thailand
- Timothy Hill, General Overseer, Church of God
- Edmund Chan, Senior Pastor, Evangelical Free Church, Singapore
- Batbold Lkhamsuren, Lead Pastor, Living Word Church Church, Mongolia
- Byoungho Zoh, Founder, Tongdok Bible, Korea
- Tim Jore, Innovation and Strategy, unfoldingWord, Orlando, Florida
As we walked through each main session of the summit, we set prayer goals and future young minister goals. For FINISH Asia Summit, we established the goal of 150,000 young ministers to be called and equipped in the next ten years. With 40% of the global population being in this world region, the Church is going to need a tidal wave of new young ministers in the years to come! The Million Ministers Mandate showcased below showcases where the future FINISH Summits will be held and will featured the goals established in the upcoming regions.
Furthermore, during the recent FINISH Asia Summit, hub leaders were selected and dates were set to launch new Global Church Network Hubs in Mongolia, the Philippines, Thailand, and Myanmar. In 2023, there will be a hub in each of the Southeast Asia nations. We need your prayers as we move forward! A Hub synergizes the best relationships, systematizes the best training, strategizes for unreached people groups, and scriptualizes new Bible translations.
As to new Bible translations, we are honored to partner with Unfolding Word in Orlando, Florida. We are synergizing our efforts together to engage the future hub leaders and his/her teams to be able to translate new Bible languages in areas where they have never heard the Gospel. This is a revolutionary approach to fulfilling the Great Commission.
I urge you to continue to pray for the Global Church Network and for the fulfillment of the Great Commission. We will either participate in the parade of promises or watch from the curb of time!
